Things Rattling in My Head

Been a while, I know. I have been bad at keeping the blog active and regular. Hoping to change that now with some new goals and focus. So, what’ve I been up to?

None of you need to hear of all the trials and tribulations of The Covid Times (i.e. from last post til now). Suffice it to say, much happened but it only matters to me and my family. Not so much happened in terms of me writing anything worth reading. The best thing to come from the lockdowns and such of 2020-2021 was reconnecting with many old friends and colleagues and starting the first Forgotten Realms campaign in which I’ve gotten to play since the early 1990’s. That’s the main impetus to get me back to the keyboard and wring things out of my head.

I’m working on developing and editing an old class I’ve taught on worldbuilding and hope to get it ready for release by year’s end.

I’m also working on multiple topics Realms-related that I’ll publish here in snippets. I figure I can make projects serve multiple purposes, so:

  • I’ll write things as examples of the worldbuilding text to highlight its methods and preview that work.
  • I’ll use these articles and natter as potential starting points to publishing some things via DM’s Guild and elsewhere.

What things am I likely to be writing about?

  • Secrets and revelations about Rhymanthiin, the Lost City of Hope
  • New (or very old) lifeforms for the Realms to be found out upon the High Moor
  • More hidden lore about Blackstaff Tower and its inhabitants over the centuries
  • Random thoughts on creations & old works in hopes of updating them for 5E (in lore/time if not in rules mechanics)

Hope that’s enough to reignite interest in folks visiting my lil’ corner of the internet. Talk to you folks all soon!
